The LAPD Is Using Controversial Mass Surveillance Tracking Software
The LAPD has purchased controversial mass surveillance software called WebLoc from Israeli company Cobwebs Technologies.
WebLoc allows police to track individuals using geolocation data and costs around $200,000 per year.
The LAPD plans to use the technology for a year before auditing its use and compiling a report. [ more ]
